How to make sure your check-in system is ready to help families feel safe

Parents worry about this child's safety, and it's often a deciding factor in whether a family chooses, or leaves, a church. Whether you're just getting started with simple check-in wristbands or ready to upgrade to an electronic system with printed security codes and text-based check-in, learn how to make sure your children's ministry reflects the value families are looking for this back-to-school season.

backtoschoolIt’s back-to-school time!  Families are prioritizing their fall and school year activities.  Many of them are thinking about how the church fits into those plans.

In today’s culture, parents are deeply concerned about safety and count on churches to be prepared.  This is a major factor in their choosing a church.  It is also a factor in their choice to discount or even leave a church.

There’s no reason for young families to count out your church just because you don’t have security in place.  If you’re really small and just have a few kids, keep it simple by issuing check-in wristbands.  You can Google to find those.

But once you have a dozen or more children and they begin bringing their friends, you’ll want to upgrade to an electronic check-in system.  Churchteams provides a state-of-the-art system that will print name tags with security codes for the kids and a matching tag for parents.

You can set these up with a simple computer / label printer kiosk located near the children’s classrooms.  Or, you can step it up so parents can avoid lines and check in their kids by sending a text or opening the app.
